Tamatar Shorba

Aromatic and spicy tamatar ki shorba for dinner with some wheat bread works perfect or some disco papads for evening.

What you need:
3 nos - Tomatoes, chopped
1 no - Onion, chopped
1/4 cup - Beetroot, skin peeled n chopped
1 pod - Garlic, chopped
1 no each - Bay leaf, Cardamom, Cinnamon stick
1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
1/4 tsp - Coriander powder
1 tsp - Black pepper corns
1 cup - Veg stock
1 cup - Water
1 tbsp - Fresh Coriander
1 tbsp - Butter 


How to make:
In a pressure pan heat butter add bay leaf, cardamom,   cinnamon stick, cumin seeds, black pepper saute well and then add onions, garlic saute well add tomatoes mix well add beetroot, salt and cook for 3 whistles.

One it cools remove the spices and blend it till smooth and sieve it. Transfer it again to the pot add stock and water.

Bring to slow boil and add coriander powder, pepper powder and more salt if reqd and simmer for 5 mins.


Serve hot with fresh coriander!!

  5. How do you get the bright orange colour out of a cooked tomato?Any colouring?Seems spicy and tangy and tempting too.
